Long drop toilet construction at Oloosinon

Thanks to all of you who made a contribution, the construction of the long-drop toilet near Oloosinon Community Centre began at the beginning of last week.

These photos were taken a week ago last Monday, and since then there has been gravel spread along the top and logs have been placed across. The money raised by you has been spent on the labour to dig the pit, the transfer of sand to the area (by car), the purchase of the chimney pipe, cement, wire mesh, wooden poles, grass for the roof, rope and nails.

Ben Longisa tells me that he wanted to construct the toilet here near the community centre using local materials so that many of the community can see the work and replicate the construction at their homes.

Mara Conservancy Disclaimer: This good work is being carried out entirely by Kisaru Maasai Community Projects and is funded by you.
