Are cracks starting to appear in Notch's coalition?

Five females crossed the river two days ago into the Mara Triangle and it wasn't long until Notch's sons discovered the group.

Last night it appears that there was some fighting for the females, with one of the sons sustaining a few injuries on his front right leg and paw. Although badly injured, it seems he won the fight and now has two females by his side.

The son limps his way to bring back a female.

The lioness stops in her tracks.

The couple lie down and the other female is to the left of the picture.

There were many lions in the Mgoro area today and we thank all of the drivers for taking it in turns to visit the lions and for keeping a healthy distance.

Thanks for the post Naitoi and it will be interesting to hear how the coalition with the 'boys' go. Do any of the ladies have cubs? That's the one thing I hate about any takeovers - loss of any cubs. Or were the ladies on their own with no males around?

I hope the responsible guiding continues to go well!!

Hey Dana!

These females crossed over from the Narok side a couple of days before, without any cubs.
