VIDEO: Rangers & Tracker Dogs arrest poachers

Rangers yesterday were alerted to the presence of poachers on one of the islands found along the Mara River. Our patrol teams and newly trained bloodhound tracker dogs were brought to the scene.

A poachers' camp was found as well as one poacher, rangers arrested another and the dogs were able to sniff out two more poachers from the long grass.

In the video the bushmeat is being burned by the rangers. The poachers were arrested and taken to the Tanzanian courts.

Good video. So the poachers 'helped' burn the meat - ha! Why were the trackers using such a short lead with the dogs? Aren't they suppose to use the really, really long leads?

Please continue to post more videos when you can.

The short lead was used inside the thick bush, but they were supposed to use long lead on the open field which was mistake in this case so we told the guys to fix that.
