Camping in the Mara Triangle
Everybody is welcome to camp at either our public or private campsites located around the Mara Triangle. No prior booking is needed for our public campsites, and for our private campsites you are able to make your reservation through the booking form on this page.
Park Rules for Camping
- Firewood is not to be collected from inside the park.*
- Bury your toilet.
- No bathing in the river.
- Do not feed the animals or lay bait.
- Secure your food and equipment from animals.
- No night game drives.
- Do not stray more than 25 metres from your camp.
- Extinguish fires after use.
- No loud music.
- Take all rubbish with you - do not burn.
Please note that none of our campsites are fenced.
*Purchase firewood upon arrival from Purungat Bridge or Oloololo Gate. All of our firewood comes from sustainable gum tree plantations near Kilgoris. 500 KSh of firewood lasts two/three nights.
Public Campsites
There are three public campsites inside the Mara Triangle which require no prior booking; Oloololo Gate, Iseiya Camp near our main station, and also Eluai Camp near the Mara Serena airstrip. Oloololo campsite is the only site with showers and toilets. Bathing water can be sourced from Oloololo Gate and Iseiya Main Station.
Private Campsites
There are nine private campsites that can be exclusively yours to enjoy; many of these campsites are located at stunning locations along the Mara River.
How to Make a Reservation
Before using the form on this page to book a campsite please be aware of the following:
- Campsites are not allowed to be booked for more than a two week period.
- The Reservation Fee is 7,500 KSh (non-refundable) for each week or for each campsite you plan to stay in, ie. if you wish to stay in two campsites within a one week period then you will pay 15,000 KSh.
- Once you have submitted your booking online, you will receive an email confirmation which will inform you that your campsite has been reserved for seven working days, during which time you must make your payment to Earthview Management or your reservation will be lost.

All payments are made through Earthview Management and can be made either:
IN PERSON: At their Nairobi office preferably by cheque but cash is also accepted.
Please make out all cheques to The Mara Conservancy.
