Tracker Dog Cannot Come to Kenya??
Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 09:46AM Less than one month before the departure of our tracker dogs from the USA to Kenya, we are facing crisis. The dogs are doing great with their tracking training, growing up very healthy and strong. Well, they are growing much bigger than we originally expected to and exceeded our X-Large dog crate limit. Now it looks like both dogs will be too big to fit into our crate and shipper tells us that they cannot travel… unless they go on GIANT dog crate which will cost us USD 2,100 more in shipment.
The initial fund to start our trakcer dog unit was donated by annoymous donor, but now we have already spent clost to USD 10,000 in dog purchase, feeding, veterinary check up, shipment and trainer travel fee from the USA and scraping the last bits of our fund to cover work going on in Mara right now (building the kennel for the dogs, selecting the potential trackers and arranging for importation permits for the dogs). This extra USD 2,100 for the dog transport is big and we are facing problem sorting the money. I know people have supported the Mara Conservancy over past year, but we once again ask if there will be anybody who can help us in bringing these tracker dogs to the Mara.

Linda and Memusi, who has already exceeded X-large crate...
