Visit the Villages

The association now operates a cashless system to ensure that your ticket price remains with the community. Avoid paying your driver guide or the village directly, and instead purchase your tickets through your tour operator or from one of these participating camps or lodges:

Bateleur Camp, Kichwa Tembo, Mara Serena, Mara Siria, Mara Timbo, Mara West and Mpata Safari Camp.

Entrance Costs*:

$20 per adult

$10 for under 16s

*Please note that some camps and lodges will charge extra for travel to the villages.

  • Enkereri Village

    Enkereri Village (17)

    Enkereri Village, also known as Kipas Village because of Chief Kipas who lives there, is about ten minutes drive from Oloololo Gate -take the first left after leaving the gate, climb the escarpment and it's the first village on the left .

  • Enkutoto Village

    Enkutoto Village (10)

    Enkutoto Village is about eight minutes drive from Oloololo, as you turn out of the gate head straight past Kichwa Tembo and it's on the right just before the turning for Olonana Camp.

    Six families live here at Enkutoto, very close to the border of the park.
     
  • Hardrock Village

    Hardrock Village (1)

    Hardrock Village is about fifteen minutes drive from Oloololo Gate. Follow the road past Kichwa Tembo and Olonana, and the village is on the left just before you reach the river crossing.
     
  • Ilkinya Village

    Ilkinya Village (3)

    Ilkinya Village is about ten minutes drive from Oloololo Gate. Follow the road from the gate, past Kichwa Tembo and it's on the left just before the Olonana Camp turn off, on the opposite side of the road to Enkutoto Village.
