The dry weather continued well into July, with cool, sunny days.  There were a few days with generalised rain and light drizzle after the 20th and then the weather reverted to dry, sunny days until the last few days of the month..

There were evening thunderstorms for the first few days at the beginning of the month, especially along the escarpment and between Mara Serena and Oloololo Gate. 

Heavy rain in the first half of May meant that most areas of the Triangle were waterlogged, making travel around the reserve very difficult. 

The rains continued throughout the first three weeks of April; the rains were characterised by clear mornings, heavy afternoon thunderstorms, followed by overnight showers. 

There were a series of very heavy rain storms in the first ten days of March, leading to considerable damage to the roads and tracks, flooding all the water courses and the Olpunyatta swamp.

We had reasonable rain for the first week in May and then a couple of very heavy and destructive storms in the middle of the month. 

We had a few days of light rain, starting the 17th.  It was good rain for the grass but not sufficiently heavy to fill our rainwater tanks, pans and watercourses. 

There was heavy rain on the 11th followed by daily storms until the 15th.  The rains then stopped and we reverted to hot, sunny and cloudless days until the 30th, when there were showers. 

The first rainstorms started on the 7th, with one storm of about 75 mm (3 inches) on the 9th, followed by heavy rain on the 11th through to the 13th. 

We had a few days of heavy rain, starting the 16th,  the weather then cleared up again and the remainder of the month was sunny and dry.

There was light rain almost every day in early October, with a few heavy thunderstorms along the Tanzanian border. 

We had light rain and scattered thunderstorms everyday for the first half of September.  This rain was sufficiently heavy in the northern Serengeti to send most of the wildebeest back into Tanzania.

The Mara received above average rainfall in the past year, with most of the rain falling between November and February 

The Chief Executive gave a short talk to a large group of Abercrombie and Kent clients at Olonana on the 15th

The first half of June was very wet, after an un-seasonally dry April and May.  The heavy rainfall coincided with an increase in tourism and the roads were again badly damaged as a result.

The long-rains have been very disappointing with very little rain in April and even less in May. 

The rains returned mid-month with a week of heavy and sustained storms, the weather then improved again and April ended up being drier than expected for this time of year.

The rains continued sporadically throughout March, with a number of clear days interspersed with heavy evening thunderstorms and light evening showers. 

We started the month with some very heavy thunderstorms and all night rain.  This soaked the Triangle, just when things were beginning to dry out.
