The rains continued through the first week of June, making it difficult to cut grass and grade the roads. The rains eased off by the middle of the month, with a few sporadic thunderstorms.
We had very heavy rainstorms for the first three weeks of May, resulting in the Mara River flooding and cutting off the North Mara Bridge and the River road between Mara Serena and Oloololo Gate.
We had few days of rain, starting the 3rd. The rains stopped for a week and then resumed on the 16th, with some very heavy storms followed by all-night drizzle.
There was exceptionally heavy rain in the last few days of December and first week of January, some of the seasonal watercourses flooded and the areas adjoining the river road became a foot-deep swamp.

The heavy rains continued into early October. The weather then cleared and we had three weeks of glorious, sunny weather, interspersed with one or two days of rain – that is, until the 26th, when we had some exceptionally heavy storms and sustained rain for three days.
August and September have been exceptionally wet in the Triangle. This seems to have been the case throughout much of western Kenya, certainly West of Mount Kenya and the North Rift.
We had sporadic rain for the first week of April – it was sufficient to keep the grass growing and to fill most of the seasonal water-courses but we did not have any of the extremely heavy storms that characterize the long rains.
The long-rains started on the 15th, with widespread, but not very heavy, storms. These showers and storms continued for the remainder of the month, making the whole of the Triangle green.
We had a few days of exceptionally heavy rain in the first half of December. We then had beautiful, sunny days until Christmas – then very heavy rain until the New Year.
