The dry weather continued well into July, with cool, sunny days. There were a few days with generalised rain and light drizzle after the 20th and then the weather reverted to dry, sunny days until the last few days of the month..
There were evening thunderstorms for the first few days at the beginning of the month, especially along the escarpment and between Mara Serena and Oloololo Gate.
The rains continued throughout the first three weeks of April; the rains were characterised by clear mornings, heavy afternoon thunderstorms, followed by overnight showers.
There were a series of very heavy rain storms in the first ten days of March, leading to considerable damage to the roads and tracks, flooding all the water courses and the Olpunyatta swamp.
We had a few days of light rain, starting the 17th. It was good rain for the grass but not sufficiently heavy to fill our rainwater tanks, pans and watercourses.

We had light rain and scattered thunderstorms everyday for the first half of September. This rain was sufficiently heavy in the northern Serengeti to send most of the wildebeest back into Tanzania.
The first half of June was very wet, after an un-seasonally dry April and May. The heavy rainfall coincided with an increase in tourism and the roads were again badly damaged as a result.
The rains returned mid-month with a week of heavy and sustained storms, the weather then improved again and April ended up being drier than expected for this time of year.
